About Us
Our History & Purpose
2007–2015
Our founders gained deep experience across health plans, hospitals, and traditional broker agencies—learning how the system works (and where it fails).
2016–2019
Frustrated by misaligned incentives and waste, we started helping employers directly—quietly, independently, and strategically. 2020 Vero Advising is founded in Charleston, SC—built on the belief that benefits should be designed with purpose, not politics.
2021–2024
We expand our advisory reach across industries—bringing ERISA rigor, smart funding strategies, and employee-first design to employers across the Southeast.
Today
We continue to help employers build benefit programs that attract, retain, and support their people—without giving up control or clarity.

Meet Tom DiLiegro Founder & Benefits Advisor, Vero Advising
Tom grew up in Andover, Massachusetts and earned a degree in Health Science and Chemistry from Merrimack College. Though accepted to medical school, he chose a different path—one that led to Charleston, South Carolina, an MBA from The Citadel, and a career in health plan administration, business development, and hospital managed care.
Over time, he saw just how disconnected benefit decisions had become from the people and businesses funding them. That realization led to the creation of Vero, a firm built to bring transparency, accountability, and purpose back to the benefits conversation.
In 2021, Tom was named a Finalist for BenefitsPro’s Broker of the Year. But more rewarding is the impact Vero continues to make on the businesses and families it serves.
Tom lives in Charleston with his wife and four children.
Meet Lara McPherson Anderson Chief Operating Officer, Vero Advising
A Columbia native and College of Charleston graduate, Lara brings over two decades of experience in benefits administration and operations to her role as Chief Operating Officer at Vero Advising.
Lara has worked inside both a third-party administrator and a national brokerage firm, giving her a 360-degree view of what works—and what doesn’t—when it comes to servicing employers and their employees.
Today, she leads Vero’s business and service operations, making sure clients experience the clarity, care, and responsiveness that sets Vero apart.
Outside of work, Lara enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her husband and son.

Meet Catherine Roberts Marret Client Success Manager, Vero Advising
Catherine brings a heart for service and a talent for clear communication to her role as Client Success Manager at Vero Advising.
A Mount Pleasant native and Clemson University graduate, Catherine began her career in education, earning a Master’s in Teaching from The Citadel and spending over a decade teaching both locally and abroad—including three years at The American School of Bangkok. Her time in the classroom and overseas instilled a deep appreciation for people, cultures, and clear, empathetic communication.
At Vero, Catherine ensures that clients feel confident, informed, and supported at every step of the benefits experience. Her passion for education now serves a new purpose—helping employees and employers alike truly understand and engage with their benefits.
She lives on James Island with her two young children and enjoys Charleston’s vibrant food and music scene.
Meet Jenna Cockrell Senior Account Manager, Vero Advising
Jenna Cockrell brings a rare dual perspective to her role as Senior Account Manager at Vero Advising—deep HR experience paired with national brokerage expertise.
A Summerville native and College of Charleston graduate, Jenna spent nearly a decade in human resources before transitioning to the employee benefits space. Her time in HR gave her firsthand insight into the daily challenges employers face when it comes to managing people, plans, and paperwork—insight she now uses to proactively support our clients.
Before joining Vero, Jenna also worked for a global benefits brokerage firm, where she developed a strong foundation in plan administration, compliance, and client advocacy. Today, she combines those strengths to deliver white-glove service and seamless plan management for the employers we serve.
She lives in Charleston with her husband and children and brings a practical, grounded, and responsive approach to everything she does.

TESTIMONIALS
Happy Clients
Katie Rollings
Tom has come alongside our business and taken the time to understand our values and goals. We have never had the feeling that Tom was selling us anything. He’s a true partner who wants to help us create the best benefits package possible for our employees. Changing benefits plans is very overwhelming if it’s not your day-to-day. Tom has the ability to work with clients and bring them along in the process. He’s a great communicator. He educates management about the changes he proposes and moreover, he is committed to educating the employees so that they know they have a better product that will lead to enhanced wellness in their lives.
Chris DiCampli
Tom has been a huge benefit to us. He is very dedicated and knowledgeable about his industry and constantly looks for ways to help us. I’m especially grateful and impressed in the manner in which he constantly challenges traditional benefits and proposes alternatives that provide the same coverage and benefits at a lower cost. This speaks to Toms character to me. It would be much easier for him to just click a box and renew us rather then spend the amount of time and energy to research and propose those plans. I am very impressed and grateful for Tom. Would highly recommend.
Chad DeFriece
Tom helped us fashion an out of the box solution to our health care plan. His approach saved us thousands of dollars while at the same time delivering a top shelf health care delivery for our entire team.
I would gladly recommend Tom to other small businesses.
